thursday

{the christmas card pic}

i wrapped some presents last night while listening to christmas music...i go all nostalgic like that. i think i like wrapping the presents the best.
i am banking on a snow day tomorrow. the ice storm is supposed to be heading in with 6-10 inches of snow tonight. now that's what i call a snow day. now i am going to snuggle in and watch the grinch because basically that and elf are my favorite holiday movies EVER!

lots and lots of SNOW

so yeah, tons of snow... a lot. like really wicked snow.
above is the gift i made for my friend's birthday. i reused the pink tulle from the wrapping from one of my own birthday gifts. i am so green. like literally. today i wore my green shirt with a giant peace sign on it. i think i am borderline tree hugger today. anyways, i really liked how it turned out. it is like 6x6.5ish. i'm not really sure. i am so opposite of my mom when it comes to making stuff. she has to have a template for EVERYTHING to the point where it becomes time consuming and i wouldn't even want to make the craft anymore. it's pretty funny. i will always tell her, "mom let me just free hand draw it for you. you know? free hand? do you need me to explain what that means?" one thing i do know is that our differences just make us a better pair.
i am off to make something. my creative edge has taken over my brain. hot chocolate maybe...'tis the season.
btw, check out the new TAIF prompt. i never got to the last one, but i think i may have to participate in this one. i am seeing my free people catalog somewhere in the picture.

wisdomless

i got my wisdom teeth out on thursday....boy was that a fun experience. my surgery took three hours instead of one. i am so special. my days have consisted of wrapping numerous bags of frozen peas on my face and eating jamba juice and oreo shakes from potbelly's. (now that part isn't bad) my face resembles that of a chipmunk preparing for winter hibernation...it is kinda funny. i went to the dance last night despite my cheeks and still had a pretty decent time. must have been the pain killers. i finally ate some real food today after my dad put it through the blender. things are looking up.
i made a gift for a friend last week...i really like it and will post pics soon. i am in the wrapping mood, but haven't done anything. catching up on school work all day...exciting.

the tree is up in our house. i love the holidays.

blogworthiness?

can I take a moment to be extremely vain here (which I am completely not let me assure you)? ummm where has my tan gone?!?! hopefully when I go to cali over break I can fix this...haha.

So there are a couple of things I need to catch up on...I just got my quilt back from Quilting Arts! It was travelling with them to the International Quilt Festivals in Chicago, Long Beach, and Houston. It made it home safe and sound and now I can finally post pictures! Yay!

Sorry I haven't posted any artsy/crafty things lately. I am working on a new challenge quilt and it is coming along nicely. I am pretty excited about it. (Sorry for being so vague, but for now it must remain confidential/top secret.)

So I am challenging myself to practice complete and total silence this week. We talked about it in youth group today. I will take 15 minutes each day to be totally silent...to listen...to hear Him. No thoughts...nothing. just listening...sometimes I am not o good at listening so it is something I can work on.
this weeks song you ask? this one. oh and last weeks...this.
